
Cheryl K. Olson
Cheryl K. Olson, MPH, Sc.D. is a behavioral scientist internationally recognized for her work on tobacco harm reduction and the influence of media on youth. She earned a Doctor of Science degree in health and social behavior from the Harvard School of Public Health.
Dr. Olson has worn many hats in her career, from running a research center on mental health and media at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School, to writing popular and academic books and creating TV/radio content on health topics, to conducting studies on perceptions and intentions of reduced-risk nicotine products. Her research often focuses on vulnerable groups, such as people in custody or older persons who smoke. Now a Regulatory Scientist at Womble Bond Dickinson, Dr. Olson is based in Richmond, Virginia, USA.
