Shaun Murray

Head of Scientific Regulatory Affairs, Imperial Brands

Shaun Murray is Head of Scientific Regulatory Affairs at Imperial Brands. He is responsible for delivering the organisation’s product regulatory activities, including regulatory intelligence, regulatory‑science strategy, and product submissions across both Tobacco and Next Generation Products. Since joining Imperial Brands in 2020, he has led the evolution of the company’s Product Safety Risk Management and Post‑Market Surveillance frameworks and overseen cross‑functional safety and compliance programmes and system implementation, before transitioning into his current Regulatory leadership role.

Shaun holds a Master of Pharmacy (MPharm) degree and prior to joining Imperial Brands, built a strong foundation in product vigilance, risk management, and regulatory compliance through eight years in the pharmaceutical and medical device industries, at Boots-Walgreen and Johnson & Johnson.  He held roles spanning Quality, Post‑market Surveillance, and Regulatory Affairs, where he managed global adverse event reporting, led readiness activities for major regulatory transitions such as the EU Medical Device Regulation, and implemented risk‑management procedures aligned with ISO 14971.
